Salt Lake County public health clinics, phone numbers and service shortcuts

The Salt Lake County Health Department serves residents across Salt Lake City, West Valley City, West Jordan, South Salt Lake, Sandy, Murray, Taylorsville, Draper and the rest of the county. Its main number is 385-468-4100, but immunizations, WIC, vital records, STD testing, TB and environmental-health programs all have better direct routes.

The biggest local time-saver is choosing the service before choosing the building. Salt Lake County uses several public health centers plus a separate Environmental Health office in Murray, so the closest clinic may not be the place that handles your permit, certificate or disease-testing request.

STD, HIV & TB

Infectious Disease Clinic, STD testing and tuberculosis services

The Salt Lake Public Health Center at 610 South 200 East is the County’s main infectious-disease clinical hub. The STD clinic and TB program use separate phone numbers even though they operate in the same health center.

STD / STI testing and treatment

Call 385-468-4242. The Infectious Disease Clinic offers low-cost testing, treatment, prevention education and PrEP services. You do not need to live in Salt Lake County to use the clinic.

Regular hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., but the clinic is closed until 1 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Walk-ins are accommodated when possible, but appointments reduce wait time and guarantee being seen.

Tuberculosis services

Call 385-468-4222 for TB blood testing, evaluation, treatment or chest X-ray scheduling. Same-day TB blood-test appointments are often available.

The clinic evaluates positive TB tests, referrals, newly arrived refugees or immigrants and people needing TB treatment. It does not provide immigration physicals.

Current TB pricing example The official TB page lists the TB blood test at $130 and a one-view chest X-ray at $75 when clinically indicated. Confirm current fees when scheduling because County fee schedules can change.
STD clinic billing The County says the Infectious Disease Clinic cannot bill health insurance. Ask about the office visit and individual test fees before testing if cost matters to you.

Public water system vs. Health Department Your culinary water provider may be Salt Lake City, a water district or another public system. Water-system boundaries do not always match city limits. The Health Department can help with public-health regulation, but your water utility remains responsible for routine service and billing.
