Larimer County septic permits, records and 2026 fees
Larimer County calls septic systems On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS). State and county rules require a Health Department permit before installing or repairing a regulated system.
| 2026 OWTS service | Fee | Use |
|---|---|---|
| New permit | $1,881 | New residential OWTS; listed fee includes the applicable state surcharge. |
| Major repair/remodel | $1,320 | Replacement, expansion or major treatment-area changes. |
| Minor repair | $750 | Tank-only type repairs under the county fee category. |
| Site evaluation | $290 | Site/soil evaluation when applicable. |
| Transfer-of-title acceptance document | $120 | Applicable property-transfer documentation. |
| Change-in-use review | $120 | May apply to short-term rentals, ADUs or added bedrooms. |
New-system site evaluation
For new OWTS applications, Larimer County requires a site and soil evaluation that includes inspection of two test pits. The test pits must remain open for inspection. Percolation testing can provide additional information, but it does not replace the required test pits.
Finding old septic records
Larimer County now links septic documents through its property-record system when records are available. For a separate permit-record request, provide the physical address and parcel number when possible. The county notes that homes built before 1973 may have no permit record unless the system was repaired or upgraded later.
Travel vaccines and pre-travel appointments
The International Travel Clinic is appointment-only. Larimer County recommends scheduling about 6–8 weeks before international travel so there is time to complete vaccines or preventive treatments.
Current consultation fee: $70 per adult and $25 per child. Travel services must be paid in full at the visit.
LCDHE is registered by Colorado as an official Yellow Fever vaccine provider and can issue the international vaccination certificate when appropriate.
Depending on travel plans, services may include typhoid, Japanese encephalitis, yellow fever, rabies, malaria-prevention medication and altitude-sickness medication.
